The activity of neutral cellulose enzyme in ultrasonic condition were measured by using DNS method, and the various factors affecting the activity of neutral cellulose enzyme such as power of ultrasonication, concentration of neutral cellulose enzyme, temperature, pH value and processing time were studied. And the fade performance of denim through the treatment which was under the optimal conditions were discussed. The results indicate that the ultrasonic energy during enzymatic treatment results in improvement in activity of neutral cellulose enzyme, the optimal conditions of combination of ultrasound with conventional enzymatic treatment of denim are at ultrasonic power 200 W, concentration of enzyme 2 g/L, temperature 55-60 °C, pH value 5, and porcessing time 15-25 min. The fading rate of denim after introduction of ultrasonic energy during enzyme wash is increased by 14.1% compared with which is treated only by neutral cellulose enzyme.
