The evolution of dense dislocation walls (DDW) in a distinct equiaxed cell block morphology, formed in the interior of cube-textured grains during tensile deformation of an aluminum alloy at 250°centigrade, was analyzed. Crystallographic texture was determined at midthickness of tensile specimens and grain orientations were studied by transmission electron microscopy. Results indicated a `random' arrangement of DDW, in which misorientation vectors were widely scattered. The walls displayed a complex, non-crystallographic character which was governed by macroscopically imposed deformation theory.
