Dilemmas in the management of the elderly diabetic

The following case report raises many issues in the management of chronically ill elderly patients. Therefore comments upon it from different perspectives were felt to be useful for the Journal's readers. Accordingly, the editors sought comments from a general practitioner, a geriatrician and a social worker. These follow the case presentation.
