Background: Dopamine plays an important role in antidepressant treatment-resistance. In the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) model of treatment-resistant depression, we therefore assessed the role of dopamine reuptake inhibition on antidepressant response, locomotor activity, mTOR signaling and dopamine D2receptor (D2R) protein expression.
