Gravitational-electrostatic balance in general relativity and its implications

The transformation is presented which casts the Herlt electrovacuum equations into the form of the Weyl vacuum equations. This readily leads to a new exact solution for two separated Reissner-Nordstrom sources and a separation-dependent balance condition. The result may have implications for gravitational collapse.
