Imported materials prices, urban unemployment, and welfare

The purpose of the present paper is to examine some issues pertinent to intermediate goods for a Harris-Todaro economy. In particular, we focus on what will happen to the price of the final goods and the welfare of the Harris-Todaro economy which imposes either a tariff or a quota on its import of a final product, when the price of imported intermediate goods increases exogenously. © 1992.
