A broad mapping of the development of Australian literary feminisms in light of literary feminisms elsewhere and, more locally, in relation to the development of Australian literary studies illuminates the complex state of contemporary literary feminisms in this country: how today's feminist scholars and writers are identifying key issues (often ones that loomed large in the past, but sometimes reconfigured) and responding to them in particular ways
