Not by bread alone: authority, value and meaning-making in Australian literary studies
Not by Bread Alone examines the current state of Literary Studies in Australia - its internal values, embedded in its methodologies; its impact within and beyond the academy; and the broader context of national research funding. It asks what authority the discipline has, and whether it is time to assess, again, the ways in which meaning is made, or eschewed, in Literary Studies.
