The crystal structure of the novel methylene-bridged tetraorganodistannoxane {[Ph(HO)SnCH₂Sn(I)Ph]O}₄ (1) depends on the solvent it is crystallised from and is controlled by hydrogen bridges and interhalogen interactions.
