Spirit levels: the hidden realm of spatial magic

This paper explores the connection between superstition and architecture in Australia, and the historic and contemporary use of what I call "spatial magic" - design elements, building ceremonies and esoteric rituals meant to attract luck, protection and success, or ward off their malign opposites.
