The Jewish Holocaust Centre, Melbourne – public pedagogies of compassion and connection

There has been a long-sustained effort to understand the causes of the Holocaust (the attempted
genocide of Jewish peoples in Europe in the middle of the twentieth century) and to prevent its
repetition. The Jewish Holocaust Museum and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia is a part of
that endeavour through its museum, education program and support for research, and functions
as a site of Public Pedagogy.
