This research modelled the basal resource use of two aquatic consumers using Bayesian mixing models. Specifically, we aimed to compare the individual results obtained from three types of biotracers (stable isotopes, fatty acids, and amino acids), as well as methods used to combine multiple biotracer types into a single analysis. We compared our biotracer mixing model results to independent food webs constructed from gut contents to assess their accuracy.
