The paper begins with a brief review of how film can be used as an effective learning and communication medium before presenting the results conducted from a recent study of graduate students at a UK university which was then replicated at both a German and US university respectively with similar findings. The viewing and discussion of a film clip after each scheduled class session enhanced students’ perception and understanding of key academic concepts. In addition to presenting collected quantitative data, the paper provides some qualitative-based feedback from students. © 2007 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
