In today's world, it is important to transform theoretical knowledge into practice to follow and manage rapid changes in technology. Prospective teachers need to be well educated to improve teacher quality. In order to do that, they are required to have enough theoretical knowledge and practice in a real classroom environment. Therefore, the 'teaching practice' course is compulsory in faculties of education. With this course, prospective teachers are able to teach in real classrooms with a mentor. The purpose of this study is to determine mentors' opinions and suggestions about teaching practices that prospective teachers need to perform. The sample of this study consists of 19 mentors who are still teaching in elementary schools in Tokat city, Turkey. 12 semi-structured questions were used to collect data with a qualitative methodology. According to the results of this study, it is revealed that prospective teachers have difficulty in classroom management and communication; they come to class unprepared; they do not want to come to the classroom to teach. Mentors think that prospective teachers do not have enough content knowledge and instruction skills.
