Found AR Series 1-5, is 5 short experimental video works accessed through Aurasma application via a smart phone or tablet as an augmented reality video overlay. The videos will play when triggered which will happen when the device is pointed at the artwork in the exhibition Trace Memory: after decay. Found 1, appears as an iris, and the centre of an eye, looking directly at the viewer. Pixels move around the centre frame in a strange wiggly manner. Found 2 presents a time lapsed sequence of travelling with a focus on green natural elements and shapes which is an abstracted landscape as it moves past at a great speed. Found 3 is a forward facing travelling time lapse though a mountain range. Found 4 is a night time lapse sequence. Found 5 is a astral sky field hyper lapse. Each of the works aims to creates a mesmerising set of visuals that is played on a loop for the viewers. The work appears as a concealed narrative, which requires actively engaged via direct audience participation. This is achieved in consideration of the gallery and mixed reality technologies as boundaries for experience and as sites for the production of meaning. In this work I aim to actively participate with the frontiers and perceptions of linear and multi-sequential memory creation, recall and place-making. Within this video scene, splinters of the everyday are dissected, layered and re-constructed. The metaphor of place and partnership allows for a direct correlation to our familiarities with common physical sites and sign posting of our experiences. The exhibition of the 5 AR works enabled the testing of AR technology in my creative practice with an emphasis on integrating technology as an artistic means and an integral part of the content-based development of the Trace Memory project.
