Morning TV embraces ordinariness and in the process all of us, writes Christopher Scanlon. AROUND 8.50am most weekdays, a scene unfolds on the corner of Sydney's Martin Place and Elizabeth Street that is reminiscent of a small country church. At this time, on this corner, David Koch and Melissa Doyle, hosts of Channel Seven's highly successful Sunrise breakfast show, emerge from the studio in which they've sat for the past three hours for a meet-and-greet with the audience.
