The Big Stories project has been acknowledged through public grants totalling almost $1 million including recurrent funding through Screen Australia. The project won Community Champion at the SXSW Interactive Awards, USA in 2012 and the South Australian Screen Awards Innovation in Digital Media Award 2012. It was finalist at the Japan Prize, Australian Web Awards and AIMIA Awards. It was showcased at both IDFA’s DocLab and DocFestUK in 2009 and 2011and has been featured at more than 40 festivals internationally.Research statement
