The Commission released its Assisted Reproductive Technology & Adoption: Position Paper Two—Parentage on 22 July 2005. This was the second in a series of three papers that outlined the Commission's interim recommendations and gave people a chance to comment before preparation of a final report.
The paper called for comment by 31 August 2005 and the Commission received over 350 submissions.
The paper includes information and interim recommendations on how the law recognises parents; status of same-sex couples as parents; status of gamete donors; access to information about donors and children conceived with donated gametes; adoption.
