Research statement
Background
Internationalisation of Higher Education project was funded by the Australian Government Department of Education under the Australia-Vietnam Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy (the Strategy) launched in November 2021. This project was delivered in collaboration with the Department’s offshore Education Counsellor network based at the Australia Embassy, Hanoi and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training.
Contribution
The project aims to involve Australian and Vietnamese experts and practitioners to support the internationalisation journey of key representatives from Vietnam’s higher education (HE) sector. It also supports the development of ongoing collaborative initiatives between Australia’s and Vietnam’s higher education sectors.
Significance
The data from the project suggests that Australia should develop new or existing partnership programs with Vietnamese institutions that are beneficial for both sides, as well as support Vietnamese institutions to build the internationalisation capabilities for both leaders and staff to ensure the quality and sustainability of partnership programs.
