This report provides an overview of current approaches to preventing and responding to sexual assault and child sexual abuse, with a review of the Australian and overseas research literature. In particular, it investigates 'what works' and best practice in four key domains: Prevention and education strategies to change community attitudes and behaviours; Crisis and long-term support for victims/survivors; Policing and legislative responses to both victims and perpetrators; and Trauma-informed training and capacity-building for support services
