Deakin University’s Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP) Evaluation Report 2018
Research statement
Background
The Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP) was established in 2010 to support Australian universities to enhance participation of under-represented groups in higher education. Routine monitoring and reporting is required to be undertaken of HEPPP funded programs, but deeper evaluation of impacts tends to be limited. The aim of this project was to evaluate participants’ perspectives of the effectiveness of Deakin University’s HEPPP funded projects on student aspiration, access, engagement, retention and completion of higher education at Deakin.
Contribution
This evaluation adopted a socio-ecological model to guide a deeper exploration of impacts of HEPPP-funded initiatives on a range of outcomes at the individual, community, institutional and policy levels.
Significance
The research provided evidence and key recommendations for HEPPP projects in future include sustained funding for HEPPP-based initiativesPublisher
