Evaluation of the Community Health & Wellbeing Networks pilot project - Final report
History
Research statement
Background
Deakin University and La Trobe University (through the Australian Institute for Primary Care & Ageing [AIPCA]) were contracted to undertake an independent evaluation of the Community Health and Wellbeing Networks (HWN) pilot project on behalf of Health Consumers Tasmania (HCT). The timeframe for the pilot project has been extended to mid-2024, but the evaluation ran from December 2022 to November 2023.
Contribution
This is the final evaluation report of the Community Health and Wellbeing Networks (HWN) pilot project. The project was established to test a new approach to community-based health promotion that included investment in building soft infrastructure and co-design.
Significance
This is the first application of recent theoretical work to community-based health promotion interventions which has a focus on building the relational infrastructure needed to create processes of health enhancement in communities.
