Research statement

This report prepared by ACIL Allen Consulting for the New South Wales (NSW) Department of Premier and Cabinet aimed to review the effectiveness of current and past problem gambling interventions in NSW, Australia and overseas. The report also provides evidence-based policy advice on responding to the issue of problem gambling in NSW. The findings included that in 2013-14 real NSW gambling expenditure was $8,280 million. Policies and programs reviewed include Responsible Gambling Fund and associated programs and Support Programs. A total of 22 policy options are proposed in regards to responding to problem gambling in NSW.
