The gambling industry in Tasmania has been evaluated in a series of impact studies since 2008. The current volume, the Fourth Social and Economic Impact Study of Gambling in Tasmania provides findings from 2017. The report was created in a partnership by ACIL Allen Consulting, Deakin University, Central Queensland University and the Social Research Centre by the Tasmanian Department of Treasury and Finance. The study comprises of two volumes. Volume 1 (this report) focuses on the policy context and structure of the gambling industry, trends in gambling expenditure and government revenue and the economic footprint of the gambling industry.Publication classification
