Research statement

Background This Good Practice Guide (this Guide) has been developed as part of the Australia-Vietnam Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy (EEES) - Internationalisation of Higher Education project. The project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and co-hosted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training. Contribution The core aim of this project is to support the internationalisation of higher education (HE) and the development of ongoing collaborative initiatives between Australia’s and Vietnam’s higher education sectors. The project delivered a series of four professional development workshops on internationalisation for leaders and staff working in Vietnamese universities. Significance This Guide has been developed through: ● Desktop analysis of existing literature and examples of good practice. ● Seven focus groups with 44 key stakeholders, including institutional leaders, staff from international relation offices and academics from Vietnamese universities. ● A targeted survey capturing 54 responses from key stakeholders who attended the professional development workshops. This Guide is complemented by the Higher Education Internationalisation Capability Framework (the Capability Framework) to support Australian and Vietnamese institutions in the development of HE internationalisation capability for staff, students, alumni, institutions,
