Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre Inc. was founded in 2018 with the purpose of establishing an accessible and inclusive wetlands centre in Melbourne’s West. Their vision is to create a place where everyone can connect with nature to improve health and wellbeing and be inspired to care for our precious natural environment. This research established biophilic design principles for the architectural design and landscape design brief of the new wetlands centre. The final architectural design will result in a built form that was informed and inspired by the principles of biophilic design.
