Research statement

Background This invited appearance (on behalf of national lawyers' group Australian Lawyers for Human Rights) provided advice to government on the legality (i.e constitutional validity and consistency with human rights norms ) of a bill. Contribution In light of the flawed nature of the bill, my contribution provided a significant legal opinion. Significance My testimony has been cited in media reports and will play a key role in recommendations that the bill in question be rejected.
