Research statement

Background I was asked by The Conversation to write an original report on the legacies of the Iraq War 20 years after the invasion and the consequences of the war for Australia. Contribution This involved the collection and analysis of wide range of reports on various aspects of the Iraq war and the situation in Iraq today. I then analysed and collated this material into an original report. The analysis included consulting materials produced by Human Rights Watch, the Iraq Body Count, the Costs of War project, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, the Democracy Index, Transparency International, UN Sustainable Development Report, etc. This was a significant amount of work approximate to writing a journal article. Significance As a result of this research report, I was then interviewed on SBS TV World News, ABC Radio National and several other media outlets.
