posted on 2013-01-01, 00:00 authored by Sharon Casey, Andrew DayIn May 2010, Deakin University was contracted by the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) and the Clinical and Forensic Psychology Branch (Rehabilitation, Protection & Residential Services Division) of the Ministry of Social and Family Development [MSF] (formerly the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports) to provide a series of training, evaluation and research services over a three-year period. This report details the work that has been completed over the course of this contract. This project represents a long term collaboration between the government agencies and Deakin University that aims to:
(a) establish competent local correctional/youth justice research capabilities;
(b) provide training and promote research interest amongst staff; and to
(c) identify and spearhead specialised training to build staff capabilities in critical areas.
