Research statement

Background In a project co-funded by the New South Wales Government’s Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Activation fund and EcoTech Minerals, recovery of critical and high-tech minerals from abandoned and legacy mine sites in regional NSW was undertaken. Contribution A broad screening of the soil conditions at the Sunny Corner mine lease site was undertaken with the view to determining remediation and site rehabilitation options. Significance A number of options exist for the management of the soils on-site, including maintenance and management, on-site in situ remediation and on-site removal and treatment of the soils.
