This report sets out the findings of a review of the Victorian Intervention and Screening Assessment tool (VISAT) commissioned by Corrections Victoria and conducted by the University of Melbourne, Deakin University and Caraniche P/L. The key objective of this review is to evaluate the utility, useability and effectiveness of the VISAT by reviewing and evaluating VISAT’s administrative processes (including administrative efficiency), data management, program integrity, functionality as a risk assessment instrument, utilisation and effectiveness as a case management tool and resourcing requirements for meeting future demand. The review also examines VISAT’s predictive power for prisoners and offenders serving CCS orders.
