report
posted on 2018-08-01, 00:00 authored by Amanda ColesAmanda Coles, Kate MacNeill, Jordan Vincent, Caitlin Vincent, Philippe BarreIn January 2018, the Ontario Arts Council contracted
the Deakin research team via a competitive process
to conduct a review of the existing research on the
status of women in the arts and cultural industries
in Canada with a particular focus on Ontario. The
majority of existing research on the status of women
in the arts in Canada focuses on specific sectors,
such as media arts/screen, or theatre, etc., rather than
addressing the arts and cultural industries as a whole.
The purpose of this report is to help fill this gap by
providing an overarching synthesis of existing data
on the status of women in the arts in Ontario/Canada.
