A Light-based Location Tracking System for Indoor Environments

This research investigated light-based location tracking technologies for indoor environments. Two prototypes were developed for positioning of humans and assets. These systems were power-optimized, and utilized dynamic infrared laser beams and a novel positioning algorithm. The experimental results indicated a 90th percentile positioning accuracy of 71 millimetres.
