This study investigated the development of advanced electrodes utilizing lubricin and conductive polymer composites. It started with the fabrication of novel antifouling and electroactive coatings, made of lubricin and polypyrrole, showing mitigation of the electrochemical impedance instabilities in bionic electrodes exposed to fouling solution. Further studies explored a novel fabrication route for nanometers-thin, transparent and nanocomposite conductive polymer films using a surface grafted dopant templating approach.
