Analysis of Nutrition Classification Schemes for Informing Nutrition Policy Actions

This thesis critically analysed nutrition classification schemes for informing policy actions. Nutrition classification schemes representing nutrient-, food- and dietary-based exposures were compared, and conceptual and technical characteristics that more accurately classified unhealthy foods were identified. Results informed the development of a valid and fit-for-purpose hybrid nutrition classification scheme.<p></p>
