This study characterised key features of a receptor in the brain that controls feeding, using mice. Its neuroanatomical distribution within feeding-relevant brain regions was mapped. A drug that blocked this receptor was shown to reduce feeding and changed the expression of feeding-related genes, highlighting promising therapeutic potential for obesity.
