Anticipating clinical deterioration: Patient characteristics and system factors

This thesis reports the findings of a mixed methods study exploring the patient characteristics and system factors that contribute to patient deterioration in acute healthcare. Study findings identified a range of factors that interact to increase the risk of clinical deterioration in individual patients and hospital wards.
