Assessing disease-burden to develop a COPD program in India

This study assesses the burden of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in India, validates a strategy to screen and detect COPD utilising community health workers and provides an evidence on the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions in improving health outcomes in people with COPD in low middle income countries. This will help in designing and piloting community-based interventions for management and control of COPD in similar settings.
