Bacterial Attachment and Biofilms in Prosthetic Joint Infections

This thesis considered the role of biofilms in prosthetic joint infections and established a model of bacterial attachment from clinical isolates. Being the recipient of a joint replacement means a lifelong risk of infection, accordingly this research also investigated local prosthetic joint infections and showed the risks involved in failing treatment.
