This thesis details research on sustainable basalt fiber reinforced polypropylene composites and hybrid polypropylene composites comprising basalt fiber and whiskers for use in automobile structural components. The composites have superior thermo-mechanical properties. The composites help in light-weighting the cars thereby extending the range of electric vehicles while enabling appealing car designs.
