This thesis identifies Australian born, Bessie Harrison Lee (1860-1920), evangelical, temperance and suffrage activist as a significant leader of the women’s movement in Victoria and internationally. The study of Lee and her work in a transnational context demonstrates how influential groups of Australian women were active on the world stage.
