This research studied the effect of novel chitosan-surfactant coatings for shelf-life extension of mangoes. Kensington Pride and Keitt mangoes were coated with different formulations of chitosan coating containing sucrose monolaurate or ethyl lauroyl arginate. Chitosan-sucrose monolaurate coating performed best in extending the shelf life of mango by 15 days.<p></p>
