Body dissatisfaction and body change strategies among adolescents : a longitudinal investigation

A longitudinal study of 1194 adolescents (692 girls and 502 boys) found that many adolescents are dissatisfied with their bodies and engage in behaviors to alter their body size or shape. Biopsychological factors explained the development and maintenance of weight related concerns.
