Calculators, mathematics and young children : a study of six children using calculators as part of the mathematics curriculum during their first two years of school

The findings from this research show that a calculator as a mediating tool for learning has the potential to support young children to reach levels of mathematical understanding and performance, beyond previous traditional expectations of either teachers or the curriculum for early number learning.
