Characterising the M1 and M17 aminopeptidases in Plasmodium falciparum

The enzymes M1 and M17 are used by the malarial parasite Plasmodium falciparum to digest the contents of the human red blood cells during infection. Here, work to characterise the function and essentiality was performed for both in an attempt to validate them as drug targets for the future.
