Chemical and structural changes in polyethylene carbon fiber precursors

This study followed the transformation of polyethylene into a stabilized precursor for low-cost carbon fiber. It answered questions of what was happening in terms of chemical diffusion/reaction, polymer grade, and structural re-formation, laying groundwork for future studies on the subject.
