This thesis examined how the number of actions required, age, and motor competence, influenced children's performance of tasks involving reaching and grasping. In multi-action tasks, planning of up-coming actions interfered with the action being performed. Actions following prehension were especially sensitive to developmental trends and level of motor competence.
