This study developed strategies to overcome the current challenges in making silk fibroin hydrogel, including preservation the fibrous structure during drying, slow gelation, lack of bioactivity, insufficient mechanical properties and poor printability. This approach can benefit the application of silk fibroin hydrogel for different biomedical application.
