Defining moments in men's lives : a study of personal narratives

The defining moment is a specific event or experience with life-altering consequences. Particular attention is focused on the place of schooling and education in helping individuals recognise and respond to the early symptoms of their defining moments. The need for targeted interventions that are both sensitive and timely is argued.
