Developing Haemodialysis Membrane Materials for Acetaminophen Capture

thesis
posted on 2024-11-15, 04:50 authored by Christine Jurene Bacal
This research addressed the gap on the nonselectivity of commercial haemodialysis membranes towards small compounds and other drugs during a dialysis procedure from a materials science perspective. Haemodialysis membranes composed of hybrid materials with imprinted layers specific towards the drug of interest, in this case, acetaminophen, were developed using molecular imprinting technology.
